At So Cal Rescue Ranch, we believe every dog deserves more than just a second chance — they deserve a real shot at healing. That’s why we’re proud to offer affordable decompression boarding for rescue dogs who need a safe, stable place to recover post-shelter, reset emotionally, and begin trusting humans again.
Many dogs who come from high-volume municipal shelters have spent months — sometimes years! — in loud, chaotic environments, surrounded by constant barking, bright lights, and overwhelming stress. Some were minutes away from being euthanized. These dogs don’t just need a roof over their head — they need intentional care, peace, and one-on-one attention from experienced handlers who understand the importance of decompressing gently and safely.
Unlike traditional boarding or training facilities that charge $600–$1,000 per week (while often sticking dogs in concrete runs with little interaction), our program focuses on quality, not profit. We offer personalized decompression services for just $100–$150 per week. That means small rescues, fosters, and adopters finally have access to affordable, humane boarding that’s rooted in healing — not upcharging.
Each dog at So Cal Rescue Ranch is given their own cozy decompression cottage — a peaceful studio-style space that feels more like a home than a kennel. These cottages are quiet, climate-controlled, and designed to reduce stress while promoting trust and confidence. Whether your dog is coming straight from the shelter, recovering from trauma, or just needs a short-term place to stay while their foster is out of town, we’re here to help.
Our standard short-term stay is 2–3 weeks, while long term is 2-3 months; during which dogs receive enrichment, structure, decompression walks, and lots of individual care. Every stay is tailored to the dog’s specific needs and comfort level, with a focus on rebuilding confidence and preparing them for their forever home or next placement. We also welcome partner rescue organizations who need temporary, affordable housing for their dogs during transitions. Our goal is to be a resource — not a roadblock — for people doing the hard work of saving lives.
We built So Cal Rescue Ranch to be different. No cold kennels. No outrageous boarding fees. Just healing, heart, and a soft place to land.
